The 7th World Melanoma Congress will take place in Vienna, Austria between May 12th-16th 2009. This annual conference sees the movers and shakers of the world melanoma community unite to debate hot research topics. Speakers from all faculties will attend, ranging from basic science to cutting edge clinical treatment. Professor Meirion Thomas will be talking about the latest research surrounding the sentinel node biopsy technique.
In recent years Professor Thomas has advocated caution in the use of sentinel node biopsy. His presentation explores the prognostic false positivity related to the procedure which has become common practice despite a lack of trial based evidence.
